Last Minute Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Last Minute Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. If you're anything like me, there's an 83% chance that you forgot to plan something. Lucky for you, I work best under pressure.

Here are some last-minute date ideas that just might save both of our rears.

#1 Make fancy dinner at home

It’s not uncommon for people to spend hundreds of dollars to eat out on Valentine’s Day. I don’t know about you - but I’ve never even spent close to that for a home-cooked meal. But imagine, how amazing of a dinner you could make with even half the average Valentine's dinner budget? This year, change up the pace and cook an amazing dinner at home. Combine with a great wine or the drink of your choice, and you’re all set. No reservations required, and it makes the perfect segue into Netflix and uhhh, other things.

 #2 Go out for dessert

This is a fun twist on the typical night out. Instead of going out for dinner and barely having room for dessert, eat at home. After you wine and dine on the cheap, head out to the restaurant of your choice for an amazing dessert experience. Since you're going out later, odds are you can still get a reservation at a place that may be booked up for dinner. And if you really want to take the evening to the next level, combine this plan with suggestion #1.

 #3 Go ice skating

Ice skating has to be one of the most romantic outings you can do as couple. If you've never done it before, this is the year. A quick search on the internet should help you find your nearest rink. Bonus points if it's a little bit of a road trip. (Don’t forget the romantic playlist for the drive.) Ice skating could become your new favorite Valentine’s Day tradition, which means you won't be stuck in this I forgot to plan situation for at least five more years.

 #4 Build a fire

If ice-skating is the most romantic couple outing, then sitting in front of a campfire together is the second. There’s something about being in front of a fire together that just makes the moment extra special. And, it's so simple to execute. Apart from the fire, you just need a few conversation topics, plus some smores and a thermos of your favorite hot beverage. It’s guaranteed to be an amazing evening. Oh yeah, blankets. Don’t forget to bring blankets.

#5 Double Date + Order In

Odds are, you were probably going to get takeout anyway. Invite some of your closest friends over, and BOOM. Now it looks like you didn’t accidentally forget to plan something. Whether you make the evening into a game night, movie night, or a drinking night, friends will definitely make it better. And, since you’re already at home, there’s no need for a DD. Party on everyone.

I have to go now and start working on my own last-minute plan. Whatever you decide to do this Valentine’s Day, I hope you have an awesome day. And if you’re looking for last minute gift idea that isn't flowers and chocolates, our gift cards are always available instantly.
